For Gardeners

Understanding your zone:
The U. S. Department of Agriculture designed a map that has a series of climate zones. They are numbered from 1 to 11, 1 being the coldest and 11 being the warmest. When you begin designing your landscape, or adding additional plants to your existing garden, make sure you know your zone.

Most of your local nurseries will stock plants that grow in your climate. It's a good idea to check the Star® Quality Plant tag before you purchase a new addition to your garden to ensure it's success in your zone.
